horse ranch of the Ritter family, where she proves her worth
working with horses, especially Wildfire, but still wrestles

Roy Roger's Show
|
The Roy Rogers Show is an American Western television series
that broadcasted 100 episodes on NBC for six seasons between
December 30, 1951 and June 9, 1957. The show starred Roy Rogers
as a ranch owner, Dale Evans as the proprietor of the Eureka
Cafe in fictional Mineral City, and Pat Brady as Roy's sidekick
and Dale's cook. Brady's jeep Nellybelle had a mind of her own
and often sped away driverless with Brady in frantic pursuit
on foot. Animal stars were Roy's Palomino horse, Trigger and
his German Shepherd wonder dog, Bullet. |
Lone Ranger
|
The Lone Ranger is an American radio and television show created
by George W. Trendle and developed by Fran Striker. The eponymous
character is a masked Texas Ranger in the American Old West,
originally played by George Seaton, who gallops about righting
injustices with the aid of his clever, laconic Indian sidekick,
Tonto. Departing on his white horse Silver, the Ranger would
famously say "Hi-yo, Silver, away!" as the horse galloped toward
the setting sun. |
Mister Ed
|
Mister Ed was an American television situation comedy produced
by Filmways that first aired in syndication from January 5
to July 2, 1961 and then on CBS from October 1, 1961 to February
6, 1966.
Mister Ed was the first series ever to debut as a midseason
replacement. The stars of the show are Mister Ed, an intelligent
palomino horse who could talk, and his owner, an eccentric
and enormously klutzy architect named Wilbur Post. Much of
the program's humor stemmed from the fact Mister Ed would
speak only to Wilbur, as well as Ed's notoriety as a troublemaker.
According to the show's producer, Arthur Lubin, Young was
chosen as the lead character because he "just seemed like
the sort of guy a horse would talk to.
